Leyburn in Bloom Winners
Judging took place on Thursday 13th August by Garry Hudson and Dave Lodge from the Richmondshire District Council and who are both on the Green Flag Committee. The presentation to the winners will take place once a convenient date has been proposed for Gary Verity and the Darlington & Stockton Times.
There were 2 categories - Main Display and Best Maintained Hanging Basket/Wall Planter.
The scores were as follows:
Main Display:
1st - Golden Lion Yard Project - 21.5 pts
2nd - Dales Haven - 20 pts
3rd - Black Swan - 18.5 pts
4th - Little Chocolate Shop - 17.5 pts
5th - Hoppers - 15.5 pts
6th - Joint - Tourist Information/Saffron & Golden Lion & Wobbly Dog - 15 pts each
BestHanging Basket/Wall Planter:
1st - Clyde House - 23.5 pts
2nd - Royals - 17.5 pts
3rd - Joint - Pet Shop & Giovannis - 17 pts
4th - Sanderson's Ind est - 15.5 pts
5th - Joint - Milners & Art Shop - 12.5 pts
6th - Joint - Sandpiper & Jon Gamble - 12 pts
I think we all agree just how lovely Leyburn has looked these last few months, with many locals and tourists commenting on the colourful displays dotted around the Market Place.
A huge thanks and congratulations to everyone that took part - summer's not over yet though so keep the watering cans to hand!
